Reclaim the Power is a grassroots organising network for taking direct action on environmental, economic and social justice issues, working in solidarity with affected communities. Last summer we turned up the heat on extreme energy extraction with an action camp at a site of resistance in Lancashire. We now have regional action groups all over the UK, with loads of people getting inspired to take action on a range of issues.

The next London regional meeting is in just ONE WEEK away on Tuesday 2nd December and we’re excited to have Chris Bough, Assistant General Secretary of PCS Union, to come and speak with us about the current orientation of the Trade Union movement towards environmental issues and particularly fracking. Chris was with us in at the camp in Blackpool and attended a Trade Unions for Energy Democracy event in the US around the time of the September climate march so will be able to give us a fantastic insight into how unions are working in this area.

Also, on the agenda will be:

– a de-brief of our action with Fuel Poverty Action (that’s THIS FRIDAY – make sure to come along / share on social media – event here:http://www.facebook.com/events/1486809398267145/ )

– updates on the Infrastructure bill

– opportunities to feed into the National RtP network

– action-planning for what we want to get up to over the next few weeks / months

Other suggestions for items are welcome!

Drinks afterwards in a pub TBA. Please come along and bring anybody who might be interested, we’re building something really exciting and want to be as accessible as possible.
